Australia defeated Oman by a margin of 39 runs on Thursday during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the esteemed Kensington Oval in Barbados.

In pursuit of a target of 165 runs, Oman found themselves restrained at a meager 125-9 within the stipulated 20 overs. Notably, Marcus Stoinis showcased remarkable prowess by securing three wickets for the victorious side, while Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, and Nathan Ellis each claimed two wickets apiece.

 

Oman's batting lineup suffered consistent setbacks throughout their pursuit, impeding any possibility of gaining momentum. Ayaan Khan emerged as the leading scorer, amassing 36 runs from 30 deliveries.

Before the encounter, Oman won the toss and opted to field first against Australia. Despite briefly reducing Australia to 50-3 in the 9th over, Oman ultimately conceded a total of 164-5 in their allotted 20 overs.
